This workshop is intended for photographers who have a fairly body of work they are seriously considering turning into some form of book, ranging from an artists’ book or on-demand publication to a mainstream trade book.

Presentations by Linda Connor and Sangyon Joo will share examples and practical approaches for how to translate a portfolio of work into book form. Then, in a supportive and positive environment, detailed discussion of each participant’s project by the group will include feedback about next steps in how to proceed on a book project that will best serve the specific creative content and intended message of the work.

Emphasis will be placed on the creative and design aspects of the process. However, Connor and Joo can also speak to practical, logistical and financial considerations of producing and distributing a book.

Sangyon Joo lives in Seoul, but is visiting the Bay Area to present Datz Press at Codex. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to spend a weekend with two visionaries with deep experience in the art of the photo book.
