SFO Museum Photography Exhibitions
SFO Museum is proud to collaborate with the team at Photo Alliance, an organization that has been of great importance to the Bay Area photography community for the past fifteen years. We are excited to expand our 2018 programming to include an exhibition of works selected by the jurors, and look forward to sharing the work with the broad audience at the San Francisco International Airport.

SFO Museum dedicates galleries throughout the Airport to the exhibition of photographic works. The Museum has regularly exhibited photography for the past thirty years. SFO Museum seeks to engage visitors in the work of local, national, and international artists through exhibitions that reflect the diversity of the Bay Area’s arts community, while helping visitors understand the significance of the region in both the origins and evolution of the photographic medium.
A JURIED EXHIBITION COMPETITION

CALL FOR ENTRY:
PhotoAlliance invites entries for a photographic competition juried by distinguished professionals with winning entries exhibiting work at the SFO Museum located at the San Francisco International Airport and online @ photoalliance.org
This unique venue provides unparalleled exposure for your work as more than
50 MILLION passengers per year pass through SFO.
There is a submission fee required to participate. Please note that proceeds from this competition are used to support the programs of PhotoAlliance and the Our World Portfolio Review Scholarship Fund. Thank You!

THEME:
HOME
Home may be where we start or end our day – an actual place or a state of mind. Home might be a feeling carried around as something desired or battled for. Home can include inhabitants, community or any form of like-mindedness.
A broad range of interpretations through photography is invited for this entry, including documentary, expressive or experimental. Submissions may be depicted in any style and utilize any process or camera type.
Photographers of all ages, nationalities, backgrounds and experience levels are invited to enter.
AWARDS & BENEFITS:
14 Winning works will exhibited at the SFO Museum
25 Runner-up works will be featured on the PhotoAlliance.org website and Facebook page garnering international viewing.
All winning & runner-up entries will be screened before a public PhotoAlliance lecture event in San Francisco.
TIMELINE:
DEADLINE: Midnight, December 10 2017
October 16th, 2017 : Competition opens
December 10, 2017 (Midnight PDT): Deadline for submissions
January 25th, 2018: Winners announced
January 25th, 2018: Website goes live with online exhibition
February & March, 2018: Exhibition production by SFO Museum
May 8–August 14, 2018: Home, will be on view during the peak summer travel season in the SFO Museum Gallery B3, Terminal 1 space at the San Francisco International Airport.
Works by selected artists will be produced in-house and framed for exhibition by SFO Museum. If selected for the exhibition, additional information regarding the terms of loan of your work will be provided.

All entries will be judged on merit, but two entry fees are available
General application: Entry Fee (non-refundable): $60 for up to 5 images.
Student application: Entry Fee (non-refundable): $30 for up to 5 images. Requires submitting proof of current full time student status.
