In collaboration with San Francisco Center for the Book, Join PhotoAlliance and five Bay Area photographers published by Datz Press for an intimate “walk and talk” tour of the exhibition, Datz Press—Global Voices in Contemporary Photo Books. Each artist will describe a bit about their projects and books included in the exhibition, offering insight and explanation both of their work, and the process of making their book with Datz Press. If you’ve never been to SFCB, this event is also a great opportunity to visit the space and learn more about their bookbinding and letterpress studios, extensive roster of workshops, as well as their exhibition space dedicated to book arts. Time for questions, conversation and refreshments will also be included! Artists attending to share their work are: Bryant Austin, Ville Kansanen, Chris McCaw, Hendrik Paul and Diane Pierce.

Datz Press is an artist book publisher and community space based in Seoul, South Korea. Focused on working with photographers, designers, and bookmakers, Datz Press creates, publishes, and exhibits works centered on photography, operating a bookmaking studio to support artists who want to self-publish their work. Director Sangyon Joo also oversees the Datz Museum of Art and a book project space called D'ARK ROOM; her comprehensive vision of artists’ photo books includes artists living and working across many countries and cultures while creating compelling work. Datz Press has published books for many artists including PhotoAlliance lecturers.
