ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
In over thirty years of teaching photography workshops the most enjoyable place for me has been the Desert Studies Center at Zzyzx, CA. During the summer it is one of the driest and hottest places on earth. However, during the spring it is a delightful true desert oasis. The radio evangelist/con artist Curtis Springer gave the made-up name Zzyzx to the area that he illegally obtained in 1944, claiming it to be the last word in the English language. But the real interest in Zzyzx is not its colorful beginning but its unique environment. We will visit many outstanding sites including the Mojave National Preserve, the Granite Mountains, the Kelso Dunes and the World Famous Bun Boy (home of the World’s Tallest Thermometer). A splendid time is guaranteed for all.
